Volleyball Recap: Walnut Grove Comes Up Short

Walnut Grove lost against Winder-Barrow back in August of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Warriors fell just short of the Bulldoggs by a score of 2-1.

Walnut Grove started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 25-19, 15-13.

Riley Bramblett paced Walnut Grove's offense, picking up eight kills. Bramblett got some help from Bella Johnson and her 18 assists. Aniston Thompson controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Walnut Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Winder-Barrow, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Walnut Grove has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy on the 21st. As for Winder-Barrow, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 25-12 win against Clarke Central on the 21st.
