Volleyball Recap: Argo Starts off Right with Win over Andrew

Argo had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Andrew Thunderbolts. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Argonauts have posted since May 1, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Argo got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 24-26, 25-19.

Sebastian Pardol paced Argo's offense, picking up 21 kills. Pardol got some help from Alexander Jakowicki and his 39 assists. Pardol was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Argo will be taking part in a tournament against Lincoln-Way Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Andrew, they will take on Downers Grove North in a tournament on Friday.
