Baseball Recap: Friday's Win Is Colebrook Academy's Tenth in Last 13 Outings

Colebrook Academy won the last time they faced Pittsburg and things went their way on Friday too. The Mohawks were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Panthers. Considering the Mohawks have won nine matchups by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jack Kyler was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Vinny Santamaria and Dylan Dauphnais did most of the damage at the plate: Santamaria got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI, while Dauphnais went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI Santamaria has posted since May 5th. Jackson Weir was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Colebrook Academy has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Pittsburg, their loss was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-21.
