Basketball Game Preview: Owosso Trojans vs. Kearsley Hornets

The Owosso Trojans will venture away from home to challenge the Kearsley Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Owosso is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Goodrich on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Owosso was dealt a 74-39 defeat at the hands of Goodrich. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 546th, while the Martians are ranked 136th).

Meanwhile, Kearsley was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 51-50 to Flushing. The contest marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Kearsley's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Owosso, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Owosso suffered a grim 66-46 defeat to Kearsley in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Owosso avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
