Volleyball Recap: Del Rio Rams vs. Alexander Bulldogs
Del Rio was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Alexander Bulldogs, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
The final score came out to 25-11, 25-7, 25-11.
Among those leading the charge was Brianna Espinoza, who had 17 digs and one assist. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last nine games she's played. Isabella Alegria also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Del Rio's loss dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Alexander, they are on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 21 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Del Rio will take on rival United at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Alexander is set to face off against their familiar foe Medina Valley at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
