Bearden and Maryville are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Red Rebels at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bearden will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

While Bearden's win against West wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs won by a run and slipped past the Rebels 3-2.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Maryville). They blew past William Blount 14-7 on Monday. Considering the Red Rebels have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Gavin Dibartolomeo, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 5-for-5. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Trey Carico, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Maryville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Bearden's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Maryville, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Everything went Bearden's way against Maryville in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Bearden made off with a 10-0 victory. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Red Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
