Basketball Recap: Grand Saline Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Grand Saline hadn't done well against Mineola recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Everything went the Grand Saline Indians' way against the Mineola Yellowjackets as the Grand Saline Indians made off with a 56-35 victory. The win was nothing new for the Indians as they're now sitting on three straight.

Landon Mayne continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 21 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Weston Akins, who posted eight points and ten rebounds.

Grand Saline now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Mineola, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-9.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Quitman the next time they take the court. Mineola will head out to face Quitman at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Grand Saline will host them at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
