Basketball Game Preview: Providence Classical Paladins vs. UR Academy Lions

The Providence Classical Paladins will head out on the road to face off against the UR Academy Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Providence Classical is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.2 points per game this season.

Last Thursday, Providence Classical ended up a good deal behind NorthPoint Christian Academy and lost 61-42. The loss continues a trend for the Paladins in their meetings with the NightHawks: they've now lost five in a row.

Providence Classical's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Malachi Thompson, who went 8-for-15 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds, and Grafton Eiff, who posted eight points in addition to nine boards and eight steals. Eiff is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last 19 games he's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, UR Academy came up short against Lake Pointe Academy on Friday and fell 43-34. The matchup marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

UR Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Providence Classical, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Providence Classical came up short against UR Academy when the teams last played back in January, falling 62-58. Can the Paladins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
