League recap: Carrollton scores huge upset over Louisville

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Louisville, who took down 158th ranked Louisville, 21-0.

Marlington extended the longest winning streak in Northeastern Buckeye this week by beating Minerva, 27-8. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.

Parrish Martin was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 77 yards on 16 carries as Alliance fell to Marlington. Kordelle Phillips also contributed to the rushing game with 40 yards on the ground.

Josh Lyon put up the best numbers through the air as Canton South defeated West Branch. He finished with 22 completions for 256 yards and three touchdowns. Lyon's favorite target this week was Noah Mallen, who caught nine passes for 102 yards.

Parrish was the best wideout in the league this week as Minerva fell to Ed Miley's team. Parrish tallied nine receptions for 107 yards. Dalton Hartshorn helped Minerva's passing attack out by catching three balls for 50 yards.

Canton South's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Lyon has thrown for 1390 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while Mallen has 44 catches for 813 yards. Deonte Settles leads the league in rushing with 594 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Marlington takes on second place Canton South. Last week, the Dukes topped Dale Soles' team, while the Wildcats beat the Warriors.

The Aviators moved up to 443 from 497 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Alliance climbed the ranks as a result of a 44-14 win over Salem.
