Carlsbad and San Marcos are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Lancers will be playing at home against the Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Carlsbad has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Carlsbad couldn't beat Torrey Pines on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the seventh inning. The Lancers fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 6-4.

Carlsbad saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Autumn Muro, who went 2-for-4 with one run. Grace Lehman also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between San Marcos and Bonita Vista, and San Marcos kept the tradition alive. The Knights came out on top against the Barons by a score of 5-2 on Friday.

Charlotte Shelton looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

San Marcos hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 6-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.

San Marcos pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Carlsbad, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
