Baseball Game Preview: Hale Center Owls vs. Shamrock Irish

The Hale Center Owls will take on the Shamrock Irish at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Hale Center will be strutting in after a victory while Shamrock will be coming in after a defeat.

Hale Center is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past White Deer 13-6 on Thursday. The Owls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

Julian Gonzales was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Gonzales was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Jessie Castillo was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Brian Cantu also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Hale Center kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as White Deer only managed four hits.

Meanwhile, Shamrock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Highland Park, falling 16-2.

Hale Center's record now sits at 5-3. As for Shamrock, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
