Basketball Game Preview: West Rowan Falcons vs. Lake Norman Charter Knights

Having just played yesterday, the West Rowan Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Lake Norman Charter Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Rowan is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

West Rowan is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Northwest Cabarrus on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. West Rowan was beaten by Northwest Cabarrus 63-32. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while the Trojans are ranked 123rd).

Meanwhile, Lake Norman Charter sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-57 win over Central Cabarrus on Tuesday.

Lake Norman Charter's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for West Rowan, their loss dropped their record down to 1-17.

West Rowan suffered a grim 72-50 defeat to Lake Norman Charter in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lake Norman Charter's Reece Long, who went 10 of 17 on her way to 24 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Now that West Rowan knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
