Basketball Recap: Shoals' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Shoals's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 49-33 win over the Dugger Union Bulldogs. The Jug Rox have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Dugger Union's loss came despite strong showings from Sage Stahl and Jordyn Smith. Stahl dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 boards, while Smith posted 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That was a full 45.5% of Dugger Union's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Shoals moved to 4-17 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Dugger Union, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-13.

Shoals wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-21 win against Washington Catholic on the 28th. As for Dugger Union, they will venture away from home to square off against Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
