Basketball Recap: Hillsboro Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Hillsboro won the last time they faced Vanguard College Prep, and Charlee Mack did her part to make sure it happened again. The Hillsboro Eagles enjoyed a cozy 53-35 victory over the Vanguard College Prep Vikings on Friday thanks in part to Mack, who went 9 of 12 on her way to 24 points and seven steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Mcguire, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 14 points. Those 14 points gave her a new career-high.

Hillsboro has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Vanguard College Prep, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Hillsboro won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Coram Deo Academy at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Vanguard College Prep, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 36-21 win against Fort Worth Christian on the 27th.
