Football Recap: Mays Escapes with a Win

Mays had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the New Manchester Jaguar 19-16.

Mays pushed their record up to 1-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road dating back to last season. Those wins were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.7 points over those games. As for New Manchester, they are now 0-1, having gone 1-3 since their 3-game winning streak (dating back to last season) ended.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mays will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Northside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for New Manchester, they will welcome Northgate at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
