Basketball Recap: St. Mary's Academy Beats Bennett for Their Third Straight Victory

St. Mary's Academy had won two straight games and Aleena Nauman did her part to make it three on Thursday. The St. Mary's Academy Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 39-36 victory over the Bennett Tigers with plenty of help from Nauman, who went 9-for-16 on her way to 22 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. What's more, she posted two blocks, the most she's had since back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Bennett lost, don't look at Jessica Venneberg. Despite the final result, she put up 16 points. Venneberg's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Raquel Thorpe, who scored eight points.

St. Mary's Academy's record now sits at 13-9. As for Bennett, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.

As of now, neither St. Mary's Academy nor Bennett have any future games scheduled.
