Basketball Recap: Heritage Academy Comes Up Short

The Heroes lost against the Heroes back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Heritage Academy Heroes took a 48-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Heritage Academy Heroes. The Heroes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead the Heroes to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayla Santa Cruz, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, Santa Cruz is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Aiyana Sims, who posted nine points in addition to five boards and four steals.

The Heroes now have a losing record at 2-3. As for the Heroes, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

The Heroes will host the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. As for the Heroes, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 62-29 win against the Sun Devils on the 13th.
