Woodside extended their winning streak to six games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Daniel Torres. The Wildcats really took it to the Castro Valley Trojans for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-13 victory for which the team can thank Torres, who rushed for 75 yards and a pair of TDs on only five carries, and also picked up 106 receiving yards and one score. His longest reception was for an impressive 64 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.

Woodside didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Grady Furtado and JJ Lange. Another thorn in Castro Valley's side was Isaac Pech, who made nine total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Castro Valley's loss on Thursday came despite strong showings from Ezra Segundo and Lazarus Jones. Segundo rushed for 64 yards and one touchdown, while Jones rushed for 52 yards and one TD.

Woodside's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Castro Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodside will welcome Capuchino at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Castro Valley, they will be playing at home against Redwood at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
