Volleyball Recap: Bishop Ready's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After a string of ten wins, Bishop Ready's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Buckeye Valley Barons. The Silver Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Barons earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Bishop Ready started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-21.

Kaitlin Brown paced Bishop Ready's offense, picking up 17 kills. Brown got some help from Allyson Creighton and her 23 assists. Brown was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Leading Buckeye Valley to victory were Delaney Lozier and Payton Loedding. Lozier had 18 digs and five assists, while Loedding had 16 assists and three digs. Those 18 digs gave Lozier a new career-high.

Bishop Ready's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 12-1 and their overall record down to 13-2. As for Buckeye Valley, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Bishop Ready and Bexley will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Buckeye Valley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Franklin Heights on the 2nd.
