The Menlo-Atherton Bears will face off against the Notre Dame Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Menlo-Atherton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.
Menlo-Atherton barely beat Half Moon Bay the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bears put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 11-1 victory last Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.
Gracy Nava made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Menlo-Atherton let Carey Maletis and Juliana Pandolfo run wild. Maletis went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Pandolfo scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3. Those four RBI gave Maletis a new career-high. Emma Loose was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Menlo-Atherton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Half Moon Bay only managed seven hits.
Meanwhile, the Tigers entered their tilt with the Regents on Wednesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Regents. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since March 3rd.
Allison Lui was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Lui was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Juliette Ramirez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Menlo-Atherton pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for the Tigers, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3-1.
Both Menlo-Atherton and Notre Dame just can't seem to miss. The Bears have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Notre Dame struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.1 hits.
