Basketball Game Preview: Little Snake River Rattlers vs. Fort Washakie Eagles

The Little Snake River Rattlers will head out on the road to face off against the Fort Washakie Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Little Snake River has three straight wins, Fort Washakie has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Little Snake River is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Rangely: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Little Snake River blew Rangely out of the water with a 70-43 final score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Rattlers had established a 25 point advantage.

Little Snake River's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tymber Cozzens led the charge by going 8 of 12 en route to 16 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Aiden Jones, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 15 points.

Meanwhile, Fort Washakie scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 75-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Stephens.

Little Snake River pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.4 points over those games. As for Fort Washakie, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Everything came up roses for Little Snake River against Fort Washakie in their previous matchup on Saturday, as the team secured an 80-31 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Little Snake River since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
