Montgomery extended their winning streak  to four  on Friday, bumping them up to 4-1. They came out on top against the Lake Creek Lions by a score of  42-31. That's more bragging rights for the Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
 Jack Merryman threw for 142 yards and a pair of  TDs on only 12 passes.   Keldrid Ben was his top target, picking up 79 receiving yards and one  touchdown.
As for Lake Creek,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 1-4. Those  losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 26.0 points over those games.
 Despite the  defeat, Lake Creek had strong showings from  Zach Colwell, who threw for 251 yards and four  TDs, and  Juan Gonzalez, who picked up 111 receiving yards and a pair of  scores.
 Looking ahead, Montgomery will head out to  take on Huntsville  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Bears will be up against the Hornets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26  points per  game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Lake Creek, they will take on Dayton at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Broncos have now posted at least 31  points  in their last four matchups.
