Alameda had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Rocky Mountain Prep SMART on Friday. The Pirates blew past the Ocelotls 3-0. The Pirates not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 5th.

Alameda not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Rocky Mountain Prep SMART between 15 and 18 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-15, 25-18.

Colin Nguyen paced Alameda's offense, picking up 11 kills. Nguyen got some help from Damien Ransdell and his 20 assists. Ransdell was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Alameda now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Rocky Mountain Prep SMART, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, Alameda will venture away from home to face off against Vail Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Rocky Mountain Prep SMART, they will head out to take on Gateway at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Ocelotls are facing the Olympians at the right time seeing as the Olympians are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
