Football Recap: Kennedy Memorial Skates Past Middlesex with Ease

Kennedy Memorial got themselves on the board against Middlesex on Friday, but Middlesex never followed suit. They took their game with ease, bagging a 42-0 victory over the Bluejays. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won four contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Kennedy Memorial had a senior duo take command as Richie Trotman threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes and Fiheem Howell rushed for 101 yards and a pair of scores. Howell's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards. Kennedy Memorial's leading receiver Grant Lorentzen was Trotman's top target yet again, picking up 115 receiving yards and one TD.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Kennedy Memorial's defense and their four sacks. Abdul Wahab was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. The game marked his first with multiple sacks this season.

The win was the fifth in a row for Kennedy Memorial, bringing their record up to 6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.0 points over those games. As for Middlesex, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Kennedy Memorial will face off against South Plainfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Mustangs 14.9, the Tigers 13.8) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Middlesex, they will take on Belvidere at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
