Basketball Game Preview: Sanger West Hornets vs. Washington Union Panthers + Official Tickets

The Sanger West Hornets will venture away from home to take on the Washington Union Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sanger West has four straight victories, Washington Union has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Sanger West's tournament run continued when they took on Strathmore on Saturday. The Hornets came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 42-30. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 318th, while the Spartans are ranked 653rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sanger West got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aleja Reed out in front who posted 18 points. Those 18 points gave Reed a new career-high. Soha Khan was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Meanwhile, Washington Union ended up a good deal behind Madera South on Saturday and lost 47-28.

Washington Union now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Sanger West, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.

Sanger West beat Washington Union 26-18 when the teams last played back in November. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
