Baseball Recap: Martin County West Comes Up Short

Martin County West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 8-3 to the Loyola Crusaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mavericks of the 21-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Colsan Andersen was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Maddex Faber made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Martin County West's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Loyola, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-10 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Martin County West will take on Windom at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Loyola, they will be playing at home against Medford at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
