Here's our latest look at the top prep football teams in a landscape that houses the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Lambeau Field, the Big Ten Conference, Notre Dame and several of the top high school programs in the history of the sport.
State champs, national acclaim, big-time talent. North Coast football is a force. So are the following teams from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
New Palestine (Ind.) senior Charlie Spegal needs 12 yards to become Indiana's all-time leading rusher. He currently sits at 8,098 career yards. Sammys Mireles (Elwood HS) set the current record (8,110 yards) in 2013. New Palestine hosts Yorktown (Ind.) on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
