Softball Recap: Chaparral Takes a Loss

Chaparral and Midlothian squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Chaparral had to settle for second. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 20-2. The Bobcats just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Chaparral saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Edwards, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Michaella Johnson also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Midlothian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8-1 record this season.

While Chaparral had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
