Volleyball Recap: Gulfport Falls Short Against Ranked Ocean Springs

Gulfport faced Ocean Springs in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Admirals lost 3-0 to the Greyhounds. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Admirals have suffered since September 17, 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-17, 25-17.

Leading Ocean Springs to victory were Alden St. Amant and River Schmidt. St. Amant had 16 digs and four assists, while Schmidt had seven digs and three aces. Schmidt is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Gulfport's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Ocean Springs, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Gulfport wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Harrison Central on the 21st. As for Ocean Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against D'Iberville on the 21st.
