Basketball Recap: Sylvan Hills Takes a Loss

Sylvan Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-41 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jacksonville Titans. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Sylvan Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Jacksonville, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-12 record.

Sylvan Hills and Jacksonville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Arkansas Rankings. Sylvan Hills (ranked 135th) will meet Vilonia (ranked 17th) at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th. Meanwhile, Jacksonville will square off against Little Rock Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 100 places (113 vs. 13).
