Volleyball Recap: Pensacola Catholic Extends Winning Streak to Six

Pensacola Catholic waltzed into their contest on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Pace Patriots by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Crusaders, who suffered a 3-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The win didn't come easy: Pace scored at least 20 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-21, 22-25, 25-23.

Pensacola Catholic was led to victory by Madison Walker and Gracelyn Wienmayer. Walker had five digs and two aces, while Wienmayer had 12 digs and one assist. Walker is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

They weren't the only good server: Pensacola Catholic was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 24 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Pace had strong showings from Kiera Beckham, who had 17 assists, and Lydia Ulmer, who had six digs and three assists.

Pensacola Catholic's record now sits at 6-0. As for Pace, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Pensacola Catholic will venture away from home to face off against Navarre at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pace, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Prattville on the 29th.
