Soccer Game Preview: American Heritage vs. Grand County

The American Heritage Patriots will face off against the Grand County Red Devils at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as American Heritage comes in on five and Grand County on nine.

American Heritage is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let Rowland Hall get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. American Heritage's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three games.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Joseph Holmes, who's now up to four this season.

Meanwhile, Grand County's game on Saturday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past South Sevier 2-1.

Grand County pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those five matchups. As for American Heritage, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.

American Heritage skirted past Grand County 2-1 in their previous meeting back in March. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
