Basketball Recap: Lemon Bay Manta Rays vs. Lakewood Ranch Mustangs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gulf Coast, the Lemon Bay Manta Rays were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They managed a 56-52 victory over Lakewood Ranch. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lemon Bay also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Maya Collins was her usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with six steals and five assists. Collins is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Long, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Lemon Bay is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season. As for Lakewood Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.
Lemon Bay's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th. As for Lakewood Ranch, they will take on the Sharks at TBD on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Florida (Riverview is ranked 293rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 271st).
