Dunsmuir extended the longest winning streak in California - North (8 Man) this week by beating Hayfork, 64-34. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
The Timberjacks lost to Dunsmuir 64-34 last week, the largest margin of any game. Edgar Castellanos was a bright spot for Hayfork, as he threw for 210 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 172 yards in the loss.
Trako Saluskin threw for 214 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 14-30 with 1 interception.
Castellanos provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Randy Harrison's team fell to Chris Ballard's team. Castellanos' favorite target this week was Anthony Cattaneo, who caught 5 passes for 185 yards.
Chase Sordahl was a force in the backfield as the Tigers bested the Timberjacks.
Cattaneo was the best wideout in the league this week as Hayfork fell to Dunsmuir. Cattaneo tallied 5 receptions for 185 yards. Marley Vantreece helped Hayfork's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 35 yards.
Tulelake's Saluskin and Coby Taylor led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Saluskin has thrown for 1,149 yards this season, while Taylor has 20 catches for 537 yards. Hayden Piper from Redding Christian leads the league in rushing with 1,527 yards.
One of California - North (8 Man)'s premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when the Honkers and Big Valley face off next week.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Butte Valley takes on the Timberjacks. At the moment, the Bulldogs are in third, while Hayfork is in fourth.
The Tigers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 64 points on the Timberjacks. Sordahl ran for 349 yards in the win.
