Volleyball Recap: Milford Comes Up Short

Milford was the 3-2 winner over Wayne when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Badgers on Tuesday. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Badgers 25-11 in the first set.

Milford started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 11-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-15.

Acacia Dalton paced Milford's offense, picking up seven kills. Dalton got some help from Jaidyn McMullin and her 22 assists. Meridee Ah-Fook controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Wayne can attribute much of their success to Madilynn Jacobson, who had 12 digs and two aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Milford and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Wayne, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Milford is set to face off against their familiar foe Water Canyon at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Wayne will take on rival Escalante at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
