Game recap: Hough defeats North Mecklenburg as White runs for four touchdowns

Hough (Cornelius, N.C.) beat North Mecklenburg (Huntersville, N.C.) 33-0 after a strong game from Caleb White, who rushed for four touchdowns.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Dre'an Long in the first quarter, the Huskies led 23-0 at the half.

Hough expanded its lead to 33 points entering the fourth quarter. HHS scored two times in the third, including once on a field goal by Tim Gawert.

White and Long ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Vikings.

The Cornelius school's most effective player was White. The sophomore wide receiver kicked one field goal and four extra points.

Coming into the game the Huskies had allowed 20.2 points per game this year.



A 28-16 Hough victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.

The defeat comes as a step back for North Mecklenburg, which notched a 10-7 victory over West Charlotte in its previous outing.

Hough (6-1) goes up against West Charlotte in a 4A I-Meck game matchup next week, while North Mecklenburg (2-4) locks horns with Mallard Creek also in a 4A I-Meck game.
