Football Game Preview: Dixon Bulldogs vs. Swansboro Pirates

The Dixon Bulldogs will face off against the Swansboro Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Dixon's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Last Friday, Dixon lost to West Carteret on the road by a 67-51 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on September 12th (42), the Bulldogs still had to take the loss.

Despite the defeat, Dixon got top-tier performance from JJ Gulat, who rushed for 371 yards and five TDs while picking up 12.4 yards per carry. Gulat's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 11th straight game with at least 103 rushing yards dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Delaney, who rushed for 136 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries.

Meanwhile, Swansboro was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 26-25 to West Carteret. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Swansboro's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Dixon, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Dixon took their win against Swansboro in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 37-15 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
