Football Game Preview: Star-Spencer Bobcats vs. Purcell Dragons

The Star-Spencer Bobcats will take on the Purcell Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.

On Friday, Star-Spencer took a blow against Kingfisher, falling 42-6. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 56th).

Meanwhile, Purcell was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 25-20 to North Rock Creek.

Star-Spencer's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Purcell, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-6.

Star-Spencer took a serious blow against Purcell in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 55-26. Thankfully for the Bobcats, Boston Knowles (who rushed for 307 yards and five scores while picking up 13.3 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
