Basketball Game Preview: Downey Christian Patriots vs. Wilson Academy

The Downey Christian Patriots will challenge Wilson Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Downey Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups.

Last Tuesday, Downey Christian strolled past Jordan Christian Prep with points to spare, taking the game 82-64.

Downey Christian had a senior duo take command as Patrick Olajuwon dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards and Maylon Marte went 8 of 12 en route to 16 points and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Olajuwon has scored all season. Adrian Baah was another key player, putting up seven points.

Meanwhile, Wilson Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-55 heartbreaker at the hands of New Faith Christian Academy. That's two games in a row now that Wilson Academy has lost by exactly two points.

Downey Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Wilson Academy, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
