Soccer Game Preview: Tri-County vs. Highlands

Tri-County is 0-10 against Highlands since May of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Jaguars will be playing at home against the Highlanders at 6:00 p.m. Tri-County has given up an average of 3.9 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tri-County is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals last Wednesday, they were much more limited against Swain County on Tuesday. They came up short against the Maroon Devils, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Tri-County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 474th, while Swain County are ranked 160th).

Meanwhile, Highlands made easy work of Hayesville on Wednesday and carried off a 10-1 victory. Considering Highlands have won four matches by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Tri-County's loss dropped their record down to 1-9-1. As for Highlands, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
