Soccer Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 9-0 to the Charlotte Catholic Cougars. While losing is never fun, Independence can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 284th, while Charlotte Catholic are ranked second).

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Charlotte Catholic, the win keeps they at an undefeated 11-0-1.

Looking ahead, Independence will challenge Providence at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Charlotte Catholic, they have already played their next matchup, a 9-0 victory against Rocky River on the 3rd.
