Basketball Recap: Miller Takes a Loss

Miller was the 63-49 winner over New Braunfels when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Buccaneers lost to the Unicorns on the road by a 66-49 margin on Saturday.

When it comes to explaining why Miller lost, don't look at Izaiah Gidrey. Despite the final result, he posted 24 points in addition to six boards and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Charles Perry Jr, who scored 14 points and six steals.

Miller's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for New Braunfels, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2.

Looking ahead, Miller is taking a road trip to face off against Aransas Pass at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Buccaneers will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 67.6 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for New Braunfels, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wagner at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Unicorns their first taste of in-conference action this season.
