Softball Recap: Eagle Point Eagles vs. Thurston Colts        
        
		
            
 Eagle Point was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They fell just short of the Thurston Colts by a score of  10-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Eagle Point of the  11-8 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  on Saturday.
  Kady Lindstrom was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring two  runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Baylee Mullen, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4.
 Even though they lost, Eagle Point  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thurston struck out five times.
 On Thurston's side,  the team  relied heavily on  Bailey Tovey, who  went 4-for-4 with three  stolen bases, two  runs,  and a  triple.  Kassy Anderson was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 Eagle Point's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Thurston, the  victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 14-6-1.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eagle Point will be staying on the road  on Tuesday to face off against Springfield at 5:00  p.m. As for Thurston, they will  square off against Crater at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Crater is on a four-game streak of home wins, Thurston a seven-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
