Volleyball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Metcalfe County

Allen County-Scottsville came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against Metcalfe County, but Amelia Slinker wouldn't allow it. The Hornets had just enough and edged out the Patriots 2-1 for which the team can thank Slinker, who had 14 digs and three assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Metcalfe County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-19, 25-10.

Metcalfe County's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. As for Allen County-Scottsville, the defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Metcalfe County will face off against Cumberland County at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Allen County-Scottsville, they will venture away from home to take on Ohio County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
