Baseball Recap: Six Straight Road Wins for Macarthur

MacArthur owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the South San Antonio Bobcats. The Brahmas haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Not much got past Korey Alston, who gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks to keep South San Antonio off the board. Alston also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because MacArthur is undefeated when he allows at most three earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

MacArthur pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for South San Antonio, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-8.

Coming up, MacArthur will welcome Tuloso-Midway at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Brahmas 3.3, the Warriors & Cherokees 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for South San Antonio, they will head out to take on Harlandale at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bobcats are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
