Basketball Game Preview: Northeast Guilford Rams vs. Southern Guilford Storm

Northeast Guilford and Southern Guilford are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2021, but not for long. The Northeast Guilford Rams will head out on the road to take on the Southern Guilford Storm at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Northeast Guilford lost 60-39 to Eastern Guilford on Tuesday. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Northeast Guilford's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jt Tatum, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Anaya Pearley, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Tatum is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least five every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Sasha Brower, who posted eight points in addition to seven boards and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Southern Guilford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Ragsdale, falling 65-44. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while the Tigers are ranked 106th).

Northeast Guilford's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Southern Guilford, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Northeast Guilford came up short against Southern Guilford in their previous meeting back in January, falling 43-32. Can Northeast Guilford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
