On Saturday, the Westhampton Beach Hurricanes rang in the new year with a 48-38 win over the Walt Whitman Wildcats. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hurricanes.

Westhampton Beach's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Walt Whitman, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-1.
