Basketball Game Preview: Tintic Miners vs. Maeser Prep Academy Lions

The Tintic Miners will take on the Maeser Prep Academy Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tintic is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Tintic came up short against Altamont and fell 37-28.

Jordan Conder was Tintic's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Mariana Pena held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds. Samantha Grimstead took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Meanwhile, Maeser Prep Academy hadn't done well against American Leadership Academy recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Maeser Prep Academy came out on top against American Leadership Academy by a score of 39-27. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Tintic's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Maeser Prep Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-12.

Tintic was able to grind out a solid victory over Maeser Prep Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 39-27. Will Tintic repeat their success, or does Maeser Prep Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
