The Walsingham Academy Trojans will venture away from home to take on the Granby Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Walsingham Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Granby's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Tuesday, Walsingham Academy needed a bit of extra time to put away Nansemond-Suffolk Academy. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Saints. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
The team relied heavily on Andrew Cole, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. Brayden Vandesand also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Granby). They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Manor on Tuesday. With that win, the Comets brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.
LOGAN KODOLITSCH was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. BRADY VANHOOSE was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Granby always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Walsingham Academy's record now sits at 13-4. As for Granby, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Walsingham Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Granby struggles in that department as they've averaged .351. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
