Softball Recap: Godley Extends Road Winning Streak to Six

Godley's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Venus Bulldogs. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Karlee Clark, who gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks to keep Venus off the board. Clark has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bree Hubbard was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Godley pushed their record up to 21-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Venus, their loss dropped their record down to 16-7-1.

Coming up, Godley will be playing at home against Kennedale at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Kennedale has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something Godley will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Venus, they will venture away from home to face off against Alvarado at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
